Carico International Should Consider Blogging to Combat Negative Reviews
Carico International is an MLM offering a wide range of products including air filtration systems, water filtrations systems and cookware. When reviewing Carico’s visibility, within the leading search engines, I was surprised to find that the second result in Google for the term “Carico International” was entitled “Consumer Complaints About Carico Cookware.” The page includes 16 complaints from consumers nationwide, claiming they either did not receive the products or that the product quality was lacking. As a brand advocate I was very concerned that Carico International was doing nothing in response to these claims and as a consumer I was very disappointed in Carico as a whole.
Blogging has, for a longtime, been viewed as a frivolous or pointless online phenomenon. In recent years companies worldwide have begun to turn to blogs in order to stay in tune with their customers and, in the case of an emergency, provide factual information as quickly as possible. When I come across a company that is clearly not in touch with their customer base, hosting and maintaining a corporate blog is my first suggestion.
To many this sounds like an arduous and time consuming task. After a short lesson in blogging, most have a change of heart. Blogs can be updated with everything from the latest developments within a company to the latest hires. Basically, any information that is related to the corporation is relevant. Additionally, blogs provide a free marketplace of ideas where corporate and their customers can speak openly.
Some companies are frightened by the thought of having to field negative question after negative comment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But most find that consumers are overwhelmed with appreciation when their complaint is addressed. This not only gives a corporation the opportunity to redeem oneself in the eyes of its customers but it enables the corporation to learn and improve from consumer feedback.
All too often, brand managers are so caught up in the anxiety of the negative things that will be said about their company they forget about the good.
